Founded in 2017, Flex Fuzion is The Gambia’s premier dance institution promoting culture, creativity, education and community empowerment under one dynamic movement. We provide a vibrant and inclusive space where performers of all ages can learn, grow and excel both artistically and personally.

Our programs blend traditional and contemporary African dance with global techniques, offering high-quality instruction in dance, music, theatre and creative entrepreneurship. Through this multidisciplinary approach, we nurture talent, build confidence and open doors to meaningful career pathways.

As a cultural ambassador, we are committed to preserving heritage while driving innovation. Our work strengthens community identity, promotes youth and women’s empowerment and contributes to economic growth through job creation, tourism and capacity building.

To deliver inclusive, culturally grounded and development driven performing arts programs that build skills, promote gender equality, foster youth employment and support community resilience through training, entrepreneurship, cultural preservation and international collaboration.

To strengthen Africa’s creative economy by empowering women and youth, advancing cultural heritage and expanding equitable access to high quality performing arts education and economic opportunities across communities in The Gambia and beyond.

MILESTONES & ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Established Gambia’s premier Dance Company and performing arts school in 2017, contributing to the cultural enrichment and education of aspiring artists.
  • Pioneered Gambia’s only all-girls dance group (Afriq Divas) in 2013 to advocate for women’s empowerment within the creative industries.
  • Create market linkages for artistes with international dance schools, events and universities.
  • Connected over 125 dancers to gain entertainment employment in hotels within the Gambia.
  • Promoting domestic tourism, Gambian culture, heritage, sports and gastronomy through Flex Fuzion’s Monthly Perreh – Bi Festival
  • Spearheaded Gambia’s inaugural national annual dance championship in 2019, creating a platform for aspiring dancers to showcase their talents and celebrate the richness of their talent as well as the nation’s cultural heritage.
  • Initiated Gambia’s first performing arts entrepreneurship project in 2019, focusing on cultivating sustainable livelihoods for women, youth and their families through performing arts and cultural initiatives. Presently trained over 1000 women and youth in the areas of entrepreneurship, music, dance, theatre, modeling and script writing.
  • Successfully advocated for policy changes in 2021, leading to enhanced protection and fair compensation for women in performing arts, contributing to a more equitable industry.
  • Hosted the groundbreaking ‘ResiliArts & Leadership through the Pandemic’ live webinar with UNESCO in 2020, providing a platform for young African arts leaders to share insights and strategic mechanisms during covid 19 pandemic.
  • Executed a peace-building initiative through artistic expressions in rural Gambia, funded by the UN Peacebuilding Fund in 2021 to promote unity and understanding within rural communities in The Gambia.
  • Contributed in the development of Gambia’s first performing arts curriculum from 2019 to 2022, for formal education and recognition of performing arts as a valuable academic course.
  • Conducted impactful Dance and Storytelling training of trainers for 50 youths in Janjanbureh (rural Gambia) in 2019, imparting valuable skills to community young leaders and educators for the workforce empowerment and cultural enrichment of the region.
  • Successfully piloted product development initiatives in 2023, utilizing indigenous elements in rural Gambia to create employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth.
